One-stop shop for veterans

Leaving the Armed Forces can be exciting and exhilarating! No more following orders, you’re your own boss. For most people that’s just what they need to kick-start their new life. But if you find you get into difficulties or don’t know where to find the information you need, that’s where the Veterans’ Gateway comes in.

What is the Veterans’ Gateway?

The Veterans’ Gateway aims to be the first point of contact for veterans and their families looking for information, advice and support on a wide variety of things - from healthcare and housing to employability, finances, personal relationships and more.

You can use it whether you’re in the UK or abroad.

Who’s involved?

It’s the brainchild of The Royal British Legion, SSAFA, Poppyscotland and Combat Stress with funding from The MOD Covenant Fund and The Royal British Legion.

The Veterans’ Gateway has partnered up with specialist organisations, for example, Shelter, Mind and many more to offer a range of support that veterans and their families might need, but don’t know who to turn to.

How will it work?

The website covers an array of topics faced by veterans and their families. There’s a self-help option where you can search for whatever concerns you and find the organisations you can contact.

There’s also a contact centre you can call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – 0808 802 1212 (free).

Or send them an email for a response within 48 hours.

The service is absolutely free.
