During Service

Throughout your service in the Armed Forces you will experience postings, deployment and opportunities to enhance your learning and your skills. Many of these experiences have financial consequences. So stay MoneyFit and find out what you may be entitled to.

And whether you’re posted overseas or in the UK, we’ve got the information you need to make the move go smoothly.

Extra money

There are certain times during your Service when you may become entitled to extra money on top of your basic pay. This could be payments to help you improve your learning and skills or rewards for having gained certain qualifications or experience.

There are also bonuses available to all non-commissioned personnel as a reward for commitment - see Bounties, bonuses and learning credits.

Posting overseas or in the UK

Whether you’re being sent to a new post in the UK or abroad, there are loads of things to get sorted before you go.

If you have a partner and family, find out whether you can continue to claim benefits when you’re abroad.

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a partner, children, or not, the key to staying MoneyFit is to get the information you need and plan ahead. And when you return you need to revisit those plans and see which ones aren’t needed any more.

You might also like to take advantage of the temporary housing available at the Services Cotswold Centre if you're in transit between postings or have welfare housing issues.
